Talvar (Review) : Crafted With The Finesse Of A Real Pro.

There are only about a dozen or so Hindi movies that I can watch over and over again, and learn something about script and making, every time.
Talvar written by Vishal Bharadwaj. Some scenes in some movies share something to you and leave, and you know, your favorite movies list and order just changed. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, is based on a true-life murder case involving the deaths of a 14-year-old girl and a male servant. Read about it. It effects us. It is more than a news-paper column. It is emotional. (Like in real life, in this film also they give no answer.) The film's ending shows something which hits our heart with a safety pin. Once again: Read more about Talvar. I personally feel, this film does justice to the real life incident but sadly, can do nothing about..., just to make us aware and feel for.

Inspector Dhaniram and his team, who did the first investigation fail to notice evidence or contaminated it. The film mocks the media for their over excited reporting to get the viewers’ interest. Soon, Ashwin Kumar takes over the case. The movie shows different versions of the killings through the view point of different suspects. An intriguing - original story, fantastic performances and superb direction. The film is just all-around excellent.

The movie is not a thriller but a compelling drama with realistic feelings. Not only the script by the incredible Vishal Bharadwaj, but also the terrific directing helps this movie. Special kudos to Meghna Gulzar. She has a very interesting eye when it comes to capturing emotions. Unease and uncertainty. Talvar is a masterpiece of Bollywood. The final some moments of the movie is uneasy watching, you feel just as helpless and desperate as Shruti's father Ramesh Tandon and her mother, Nutan Tandon. The soundtrack cruises through the film beautifully and it is well timed at crucial scenes. The soundtrack is so excellent, with a mixture of usual tempo and ambient tracks perfectly-timed and synced to the story. There is enough to keep you watching it and the ending is truly amazing.

It is hard to lavish enough praise on the acting on display here from everybody, especially Irfan Khan. He pulls it off with a genuinely sinister edge on the character. You'll appreciate the actors, music and the great visuals, more on the second viewing after you are familiar with the story.
Talvar delivers in a way few films have in many years and you will be walking away from the theater wondering at the significance of the film. I love the way this movie has been filmed. It almost shows you the dark side of our criminal justice system and prejudices of those people who is running it as well as the dark side of life. This film serves as a great model for how real-life incidents should be made, and it delivers a great breakthrough performance by Irfan Khan. The intense film is definitely worth more than one look. Just a fantastic film. Frankly I could go on about this movie forever, so simply do yourself a favor, go and see the masterpiece. Worth every minute of your time to see. Crafted with the finesse of a real pro.
